The linearly polarised ADC DAB Double Dipole Band 3 Antenna operates from 217 to 230 MHz. Developed as a versatile, robust and reliable vertically or horizontally polarised module. It forms the basis of a range of standard and custom-designed arrays. Multiple coverage patterns are configurable. Double Dipole Band 3 Antena panels are mountable on new or existing structures.
Horizontal patterns install in a “four-around” arrangement. However, a configuration for directional arrays is available.
DAB Double Dipole Band 3 Design
Radiating elements are 38.1mm (1 1/2”) in diameter and manufactured from a hot dipped galvanized steel tube. Mounting is on a quarter wavelength in front of a galvanized steel screening frame. Also, the welded construction gives a robust and efficient screen combined with low effective wind area. The main members provide a versatile means of fixing the panel to a variety of structures. Use of standard clamps without the need for complex and expensive steelwork is standard.
Weather protection of the dipole feed points is provided by GRP covers.
Horizontal Radiation Patterns
The datasheet shows the various radiation patterns. Many customised patterns are available. These provide optimum coverage in specific cases. Moreover, power division between faces of the array is adjustable. Moreover, the relative phase of the current to each face can also be varied. The geometry of the panel positions relative to one another may also be varied. The DAB Double Dipole Band 3 provides flexible design giving economical customisation.
Vertical Radiation Patterns
The datasheet also displays several vertical radiation patterns. Beam tilt and null fill are also configurable for each pattern. However, alternative values may readily be provided. The branch feeder system offers excellent broadband pattern stability.
